About Vampire Girl
Who is Vampire Girl?
Another solitary soul in this world looking for others who share her passion for vampires and the occult.
I’m addicted to reading different interpretations of the vampire myth and Dracula’s origin stories. Though I prefer vampire stories that are inspired by more traditional myth, I can accept stretches of the imagination and more modern interpretations of vampires in today’s world. (The “Blade” trilogy is a perfect example.)
However, I feel obligated to take a stance against more recent re-tellings of the vampire myth in media – specifically “Twilight” where vampires can sparkle in the sun. This is too far a perversion of the vampire myth and I shudder at the thought. Nevertheless, I shall cast a very critical eye at such stories and what they have to offer.
Beyond that, I love learning everything there is to know about vampire culture. And yes, I know vampires aren’t “real” (… even though I really, really wish they were). But in a sense, I think there’s an inner vamp in each person – a dark doppelganger of a sort. And once in a while it’s nice to let them out to play.
I used to be part of the Goth scene when I was younger, mainly High School and early college. I’ve since stopped living the lifestyle, but obviously those passions and interests have never left me.

My favorite quote from the dark beauty, Angelina Jolie:
“When other little girls wanted to be ballet dancers, I kind of wanted to be a vampire.” – My sentiments exactly.
